Playhouse Disney Live

Grammy and I took the kids to Playhouse Disney Live at the Convo Center last weekend. While it was definitely not my favorite show we've taken them too, the kids had a blast and sat glued to the show! Thanks Grammy, for going with us - it's always a good idea to bring back-up!

County Fair 2009

Kevin, Georgia and I meet Sam's class at the Craighead County fair a few weeks ago for our annual trip to the petting zoo. That Sam loves to feed all the animals...little sister - not so much! We all had a great time despite the yucky weather and muddy fairgrounds!

So, how do you like our new look??? I, for one, LOVE it!! I finally got tired of looking at the same old boring layout and decided it was high time for a make-over! County Fair Time!

Last week we made our annual trip to the Craighead County fair here in Jonesboro - the kids wanted to go to the petting zoo, Kevin and I wanted a corndog and a funnel cake! Needless to say, we all went home satisfied! Sam and Georgia fed those poor animals more carrots than I can count! And as you can see from the pictures, Georgia even wanted to climb into the stalls with them! That girl is too much!

Happy Anniversary, Honey!!

Today, Kevin and I have been married 9 years. Wow, sometimes it seems like just yesterday, and then on others, it seems like an eternity!! We've had a really low key day, but plan on a date night of dinner at Omar's (our favorite) and a movie (the new Batman) tomorrow night. Grammy was kind enough to offer her services for a much needed parents' night out!

Happy anniversary, Kevin! I love you more than words can express. Thanks for being such a wonderful husband, daddy, and friend.

Autism Awareness Weekend 2008

This past weekend was the 2nd Annual Autism Awareness Weekend in Northeast Arkansas. Our family participated "For Sam's Sake" (the name of our team). A special thanks to everyone who donated money on Sam's behalf. This is a cause that is so close to our hearts and it really means alot to have the support of our family and friends. This year's event raised over $60,000 to go towards education and awareness of this puzzling disorder. Another very special thank you to Grammy & Papa, Grandma Jo, Uncle Brett & Landen, Jenny & Caleb, and Scott & Sarah for taking the time to come out and participate in this year's event. Words cannot adequately express my appreciation. My heart overflows...

My crazy husband...

Is there any wonder why I stay frazzled?!?!? Do not attempt this at home! No, he didn't land on them, he was jumping over them......mind you, I was screaming while snapping these photos. With 3 kids (notice I said three, not two) the gray hairs are sure to be sprouting up here soon.....

We made quick trip to Conway this weekend so that mommy could go to her favorite consignment sale. This was Georgia's first trip to Conway. She and Sam stayed with their Grandma Jo and Great Grandma, while mommy and grammy shopped. On our way back home, we stopped by Vilonia and spent the afternoon hanging out there. It's always good to go back to Conway for visits, but I'm sure glad to be back in Jonesboro when we get home. Kevin and I loved Conway for many years, but we now know for certain, that Jonesboro is home and where we are definitely supposed to be.

Arkansas "Blizzard" 2008

Last weekend we had our 1st ( and last) "big"snow here in Jonesboro. We got around 4 inches at our house and got out to enjoy a neighborhood snow day! I think my oldest child (Kevin) had the most fun of all! Sam enjoyed the snow, but refused to wear any gloves and came in after a little while with his little hands red and painful. Sister and I just enjoyed the pretty view from indoors. Of course, it had all but melted by the next morning, but it was fun while it lasted....

We recently had newborn and family portraits taken by a photographer here in Jonesboro - Georgia was only 10 days old! The pictures ( there's a ton!) will then play as a slide show. I think there's some pretty cute ones of my kiddos. Of course, taking pictures of a 4 year old and a newborn is never easy! Now the only hard part will be deciding which ones to buy!

Only 4 more weeks to go!!!!!!!

Kevin and I attended the annual Jonesboro Anesthesia Christmas party last week (yes, I said Christmas party - talk about rushing the season!). Grammy came to watch after Sam while we were gone, and took these pictures before we left the house. Since I haven't posted any pregnancy "tummy" pics yet, I thought I'd take this opportunity to show off my ever-expanding belly. Only 4 more weeks to go!!!!! I am sooooooooo ready - maybe she'll follow her big brother's lead and show up 3 weeks early....if that was the case, we'd only have 1 week left. Of course, that's just wishfull thinking on my part! Please keep us in your prayers as the time draws near!

Quick trip to Conway

We were finally able to get away last weekend and head to Conway to see everyone. Kevin's friends from high school had a get together Saturday night and got the chance to catch up and laugh about old times. And of course, while we were there Kevin had to take part in his annual Conway Football League fantasy football draft! It's really pretty funny how seriously these guys take this stuff - it lasted over 4 hours - for a fantasy draft. But who am I to say anything, guess who won the NE Arkansas/Central Arkansas fantasy football superbowl last year? One hint, the team name was the SuperMoms and the owner's name begins with a B and ends with an ..eth! Ask Kevin about it next time you see him - it still just eats him up!!! Anyway, with all the hoopla of fantasy football, we still had time to squeeze in a visit with Sam's great grandmother Banister, and as you can see, I think we have a musical prodigy on our hands! :) Watch out Mozart, (or Stevie Wonder & Ray Charles - note his eyes are closed while playing!!!!)

Wild River Country 2007

Sam had a blast this weekend when we met Grandma Jo, Katherine & Jake at Wild River Country! Our little boy is quite the fish (and daredevil!). He rode every ride he was allowed on, and came down with the biggest grin, ready to go again! We had so much fun - can't wait to take him to the beach in a few weeks! Gulf Shores look out!!

Okay, let's give this a try...

Well, I have finally decided to give this blog thing a try. Thought it would be a neat way to capture some of our daily activities as well as keep in touch with family and friends. Here goes nothing......

Today is our eight year anniversary, and here I am on the internet instead of out on some fabulous night out on the town. Kevin is on-call tonight at the hospital and it looks like my exciting night, will instead consist of watching "Muppets from Outer Space" with Sam and sharing a cheese pizza! How romantic, huh?!?! Anyway, regardless of how lonely this anniversary has been, I wouldn't trade the past 8 years for anything - they've been far from boring!!! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband, a beautiful son, and the anticipation of a sweet little girl to come!! Here's to a lifetime of anniversaries, Kevin. I love you so much!
